SAB Pale Malt! Malt!
To summarize SAB (South African Breweries) Pale Malt a base malt made from South African two-row barley. Notably, kilned to provide a light color, a sweet malt flavor, and a slight nutty note. Coloring ranges from 2-4° Lovibond and provides a well-rounded, slightly sweet malty flavor. Hence widely used in the production of lagers, pale ales, porters, and stouts to give them a nice malty character. Therefore also adding a slight hint of toastiness to the final beer. This local malt a very versatile, well priced, light base malt that contributes low malt characteristics and very little color. Thus best used with other malts, as on its own it produces a very bland nondescript result. Let us get you brewing!
How to use SAB Pale – Malt!
In brief used for all-grain and extract brewing. For all-grain recipes, used as the base malt in combination with other specialty grains. Hence, when using extract, replace the malt component of the recipe with an appropriately sized can of SAB Pale Malt extract. Subsequently, used as a steeping grain to add more flavor and complexity to extract-based recipes.
